Microdermabrasion is a gentle, non-surgical exfoliation treatment. It is frequently used to treat rough skin, scars, fine lines, stretch marks, freckles, age spots, sun-damaged skin, acne scarring, and more. This treatment can be used to improve the skin on the face and other areas such as the hands, feet, neck, chest, and back. It is a safe, gentle, therapeutic skin care solution, which can be used alone or in conjunction with other procedures.
Before treatment, the area is thoroughly cleaned with a product selected specifically for your skin type. This non-invasive procedure rejuvenates skin with a stream of ultra-fine crystals. As the crystals gently dislodge damaged skin cells, they are removed with a unique vacuuming device, revealing fresh, smooth, beautiful skin. Following treatment, a moisturizer and sunblock are applied. The procedure is generally very comfortable, soothing, and relaxing.
Your skin constantly renews itself, though many factors can hinder that natural process. A few of the most common include age, exposure to the elements, sun damage, stress, diet, and poor health. Microdermabrasion is a safe and gentle way to stimulate the natural rejuvenation process, revealing healthier and younger-looking skin. It provides an excellent method of gentle resurfacing without the discomfort or side effects associated with more aggressive solutions.
Microdermabrasion usually takes only about 20 minutes to achieve satisfactory results. Improvement in skin texture and appearance can be accomplished with a series of successive treatments. Microdermabrasion techniques can also be used more aggressively; however, they cannot replace surgery or laser therapy.
We usually recommend several microdermabrasion treatments for optimal results, generally spaced from one to three weeks apart. You will notice a progressive improvement in your skin throughout the treatment plan. We will discuss the number of treatments needed to achieve your desired results during your initial consultation.
Microdermabrasion will leave your skin feeling smooth and soft, as well as give your complexion a lovely, healthy glow. The only noticeable side effect may be mild, temporary flushing caused by increased circulation in the treated area.
