What is Juvéderm?
Juvéderm is a dermal filler that is primarily composed of hyaluronic acid, a sugar molecule that naturally occurs in the body. When used as a filler for the lips, hyaluronic acid-based Juvéderm increases the volume, lift, and contours of the lips for a beautiful, ageless appearance.
What to expect from your Juvéderm lip treatment
The overall process for getting Juvéderm lip filler is comfortable and straightforward. After a consultation with one of our dermatologists, we will schedule your appointment to ensure that Juvéderm contouring is right for your specific needs and goals. We may advise you to stop taking certain medications such as aspirin, advil, omega 3 vitamins or any other blood thinners for up to two weeks prior to your procedure to minimize side effects. During your treatment:
- We will gently numb your lips so you are pain-free and comfortable throughout the injection process.
- We will inject a very precise amount of the filler into your lips in strategic locations for the most beautiful results.
- After your treatment, your lips will feel numb for a short time, and we will recommend that you wear lip balm to prevent them from becoming dry. You may experience some mild tenderness throughout the rest of the day. We will be happy to talk with you about any other questions you may have and evaluate if you would be an excellent candidate for this treatment.
While the results vary from person to person, many patients enjoy their results for up to a year after their treatment.
