How IPL treatment works
IPL laser treatments usually take about 30 minutes to be completed depending on what area of the body is being treated. Before treatment, a cooling topical anesthetic is used on the skin to make the session more comfortable. The handheld device is directed over the desired area as it delivers the laser light energy. Most people report that the procedure produces a slight stinging sensation similar to a snapped rubber band. Once the treatment is complete, the skin is cleaned, and a moisturizing lotion with sunscreen may be applied. A cool compress may also be used following treatment for highly sensitive skin.
